Meet Deep Treatment: Ouidad's First Product

Over 30 years ago in New York City, our founder Ouidad opened the first salon in the country dedicated to curly hair. There, she created her first-ever product: Deep Treatment Curl Restoration Therapy. The groundbreaking formula was the first of its kind - an infusion of moisture and proteins designed to feed curly hair the nutrients it needs from the inside out.Today, Deep Treatment enjoys iconic status as a must-have for curls of all types. "Deep Treatment is vital to keeping the hair hydrated and healthy," says Ouidad, the Queen of Curl herself. "It's the life line for beautiful curls." Here's everything you need to know about our most essential treatment product.

Is It For Me?If you have curls, yes! All curl types will benefit from using Deep Treatment. If your curls are dehydrated, lackluster, or damaged, this formula will help to strengthen and revitalize them. Even if your curls are healthy, you'll see benefits from using Deep Treatment monthly.

How Does It Work? The twists and turns in a curly hair strand leave its protective cuticle open, allowing moisture and nutrients to escape and making curly hair more fragile. Deep Treatment feeds the hair with moisturizing natural oils (Jojoba, Black Currant Seed), essential proteins, and amino acids to restore manageability and strength. Think of it like CPR for dry, dull, damaged, or lifeless curls.

How Do I Use It?1. Start with a clean slate: shampoo your hair first.2. Next, apply Deep Treatment evenly to clean, damp hair. Use approximately 2 oz. for shoulder length hair, a bit more for longer hair.3. Cover your hair with a heat-proof cap and apply heat using a hooded dryer or blow dryer for 12 minutes.4. This last step is important: Rinse out Deep Treatment, and apply a moisturizing conditioner to hair to seal in the treatment. Rinse and style. Use Deep Treatment 1-2 times per month.

The bottom line? Deep Treatment has stood the test of time for a reason. But don't take our word for it - check out the amazing reviews.
